The SDAPI Culinary Fusion Festival is a showcase of delicious Asian and Pacific Islander dishes from local restaurants in San Diego County that have been modified to give the community a healthier and delicious alternative to the foods we may know and love. Guests of the festival have the opportunity to try these dishes and be entertained by various API acts through song and ethnic dances as well as participate in an opportunity drawing for various prizes. Some of our partners – such as Pho Hanoi, Tio Chino’s, Manila Sunset, and Sang Dao – have been featured in the festival.
Since the festival’s start in 2008, attendance has grown from 40 participants at our community forum, to well over 250 participants in recent years’ events. Attendees include key, influential leaders of the Asian and Pacific Islander communities of San Diego, various political leaders that serve many regions of San Diego County and nationwide, as well as leaders from various local universities.
